For the past year and a half, my three year old has been learning how to write her letters and numbers. Recently, while making a birthday card for her grandfather, she had trouble writing the letter “K”. It’s one of those letters she has yet to master, however, attempt is pretty good for a three year old. She vocalized her frustration by saying, “I’m never gonna do this right”. I am a firm believer in the idea of both death and life lying in the power of the tongue. I quickly corrected her by telling her that she could do it and indeed was already doing it.
At three years old, my daughter is already extremely hard on herself, which requires me to often offer her affirmation. Surrounding my children with a positive environment and with uplifting entertainment is a priority. One of the reasons I enjoy books by Ty Allan Jackson, is because they are all books that celebrate children’s creativeness and uniqueness. He recently released a brand new children’s book that is the epitome of an affirming and uplifting read.
Read my review of Ty Allan Jackson’s, When I Close My Eyes.
