When the cold weather comes, I like to go into a bit of a hibernation. Leaving the house is made minimal, especially with kids, because I simply don’t like being cold. Along with the use of essential oils, keeping the kiddos inside makes me believe I am protecting them from sicknesses that are usually synonymous with winter–the common cold and the flu. However, if kids are in the house, they still want to have some fun, so let them have it with this winter craft!
Easy Winter Craft
If you are looking for an easy, winter-inspired craft for the kiddos, this snowman activity is perfect for you. I guarantee you already have the majority, if not all, the needed supplies. I had some supplies left over from my Minions movie inspired popcorn balls recipe that were perfect for the activity. I also knew the level of mess would be low, so choosing this craft was a no brainer.
What You’ll Need
Glue Stick and/or School Glue
A Pen or Marker
3 Small Items for “Buttons” (I used Sixlets candy, but you can use construction paper, buttons or other candy.)
1 Small Item for a Nose (We used a pink Skittle.)
Licorice (We used it for the arms and a top hat.)
Ok, so to help your little one create their snowman, draw three circles onto the construction paper to form the outline of the snowman’s body.
Let the kids paste on the cotton balls inside the circles to create the body. Use the remaining items to create the snowman’s face, arms and accessories. If you want to be extra nice, slide a couple pieces of candy to your little ones for an special treat!
The girls added their personal touches by adding a little “snow” to their pieces and later added sticker and named their snowmen. Our new winter pals are Lucky Sparkles and Olaf.
