The idea of homeschooling is slightly intimidating. My children are only two and three years old, but we have already decided to homeschool and have begun planning and exploring this unfamiliar territory. Since deciding to homeschool I have talked with several parents who currently homeschool, asking as many questions as possible and expressing my concerns and fears of homeschooling. I have also read numerous articles and blogs about the subject, but I feel I need to know more. That is why I decided to register for the Teach Them Diligently Homeschool Convention. When I discovered the organization and saw what their mission is, I knew this convention would be perfect for my family and I to attend.
About Teach Them Diligently
Teach Them Diligently is distinctive from many other homeschool conventions because the foundation will be discipleship, parenting, and missions. Academics and how-to workshops on homeschooling will be important, as will legal discussions regarding homeschooling. But, discipleship will be the foundation, and we believe that it is the foundation for what so many Christian parents do every day as they educate their children. Another distinction is that all profits from the Teach Them Diligently Convention will go directly into mission endeavors. -Founders, David and Leslie Nunnery
While You Explore the Convention
The children’s program runs Friday and Saturday from 9 am to 6pm (with a break for lunch with parents). It is geared to ages 4 to 12. This is a wide age range, and young people will be split into age-appropriate groups for more specific instruction. The program this year will be run by Patch The Pirate and his team of sailors. They will be looking at God’s Incrediworld through songs and lessons.
Also at the Convention
Seminars will be held everyday and almost all day during the convention. Speakers from around the country will be there, offering their expertise in the areas education and ministry. (Click HERE for list of speakers.) There will also be a time for the women to fellowship and be refreshed and a time for the men to come together and be encouraged.
Looking for Curriculum?
There will be an exhibit hall full of exhibitors that offer educational resources, products for the home and the family. Here is a full list of curriculum vendors.
