Kids have huge imaginations. Encouraging them to use their imagination will help them experience and create extraordinary childhood playtime memories. Plush toys have been a part of my children’s playtime since before they could talk. Most days, their plush teddy bears, puppies, giraffes and bunnies are included in “sleepovers” and “birthday parties” almost daily, which is why I’m excited to share with them that National Teddy Bear Day is September 9. Snuggle® also knows how special a teddy bear can be, which is why, for the second year in a row, they are brightening children’s day by donating 5,000 bears to children in need.
Parents of children with a special teddy bear or toy know how important it is not to forget that toy when traveling. Having it makes, for my children, bedtime in an unfamiliar place easier. Whether at a local hotel during a staycation or thousands of miles away on vacation, my kiddos have a couple “friends” that must come along.
These little “friends” can get a little germy and stinky when traveling from place to place. Snuggle® PLUS SuperFresh™ is a quality fabric conditioner that will, after using it as the packaging suggests, keep teddy bears soft and smelling great with a long-lasting fresh scent. A great smelling teddy means parents don’t have to be afraid to snuggle up their little ones when their teddies are in hand. Thankfully, my Target offers multiple scents and sizes to choose from so laundry and teddy bears stay conveniently fresh.
#ShareABear With a Basket of Firsts
A meaningful gift is great to give and receive. When helping someone celebrate the birth of their new baby, giving a gift that is both useful and meaningful can go a long way. You can help foster a child’s imagination and future playtime, as well as celebrate special moments and milestones, with a teddy bear and basket of firsts.
What You’ll Need
Baby Wash Cloths/Towels for baby’s first bath
Journal to keep note of baby’s first milestones
Candle to celebrate baby’s first birthday
Flash Drive to keep photos of special moments in one place
Build Your Basket
- Remove the packaging from all the items.
- Take a tag for each item and write the items purpose, such as “first bath” on the tag designated for the towels and wash cloths.
- Cut an appropriate length of twine that will fit through the tag and around the item you are placing it on.
- Attach tags to each item and decide how they will be placed in the basket.
- Begin adding the items in the basket, with the baby blanket being folded and added to the bottom of the basket.
- Add other items until the basket looks full
You and your family can embrace the #ShareABear spirit all September long by sharing stories, memories, and pictures with a teddy bear on Snuggle®’s Facebook page and in the Snuggle® Bear Den. Hang out in the Snuggle® Bear Den for the best offers and prizes!
