Parenting With 14 Gospel Principles

I did receive a sample of the product in exchange for this review and post.

Ever hear someone speak or read something that made you think the speaker or author knew all of your business and was speaking directly to you? I have had it happen on many occasions at church but Parenting: 14 Gospel Principles That Can Radically Change Your Family by Paul David Tripp is only one of few books to impact my life in a huge way.

Lighten Your Work Load

In parenting, there is no owner’s manual and no return to sender option comes with your children. There also is no such thing as perfect parents. There is, however, a perfect God who has supplied us with His Word as a guide to life, including parenting. God doesn’t expect parents to know everything; He wants to be the leader while we act as His ambassadors. What exactly does this mean? Paul David Tripp describes this ambassadorship as being a representative of the message (God’s word), His method and His character.

Too often we as parents get frustrated (and fed up) with the daily challenges that come with parenting, but learning how to relinquish some of the responsibility is what we all should do. God desires to work for us and through us so He may work in the hearts of our children. Parenting: 14 Gospel Principles That Can Radically Change Your Family gives readers an understanding of how to allow that to happen with 14 Gospel-centered principles related to: calling, grace, law, inability, identity, process, lost, authority, foolishness, character, false gods, control, rest and mercy.

Parenting With Gospel Principles

This book is a must read if you want to parent with vision, purpose and joy. You won’t find parenting strategies in Tripp’s work, but rather a push to look to the Father for grace to fulfill your parenting responsibilities. As a mother of three children, one born just weeks ago, the perspective shared in Parenting: 14 Gospel Principles That Can Radically Change Your Family has come right on time.

I’m really looking forward to reading this, especially after pulling from his brother’s book on shepherding a child’s heart! Sad I missed the giveaway!

Congrats on the newest addition! At the moment, I’m at a deficit of sleep from my newborn! LOL…SMH

Hi Shekea! It really is a must-read for all parents who desire to raise God loving and serving children. Showing our children grace will help them see and embrace the Father’s love both as children and adults (our ultimate goal).

Oh my goodness, congratulations on your new baby! I know exactly what you’re experiencing and pray God gives us both the grace to get through the newborn stage without losing our sanity. 😉 These are certainly precious moments.
