One of my favorite parts of preparing for a baby is choosing nursery furniture and decor. Keeping things functional and easy to clean helps to simplify life with a newborn. Any sliver of simplicity is helpful during these special moments of our lives.
Pledge® Lemon Wipes are helping keep our baby’s black nursery furniture clean while we wait on her arrival. We used the same furniture for our other two daughters, so from experience, I knew choosing black furniture would be quite welcoming for dust. Our master bedroom typically collects dust quickly, and since the baby will temporarily join us there, it’s important that I have everything I need for quick cleanups and dusting near. Thankfully, Pledge® Lemon Wipes are an all-in-one option that features Allergen Trappers®, removing dust and up to 90% of the allergens found in dust, and leaving the perfect amount of fresh lemon scent. Quick trips down the cleaning aisle at Kroger will make keeping them on-hand convenient.
If you’re accustomed to using the classic Pledge® Lemon Clean Furniture Spray, it still works, and has some of the same benefits as the Pledge® Lemon Wipes. It’s an all around great cleaner and can be used on many surfaces in the home, including wood, laminate, stainless steel, leather, marble, granite, and plastic.
Tips for a Clean and Organized Nursery
With only weeks left, it’s time to get everything ready for baby number three, so I recently spent a weekend doing just that. Using the Pledge® Lemon Wipes renewed the nursery furniture by conditioning and protecting the wood, as well as cleaning up the dust and messes it has collected over the years. The difference and shine was immediately visible which made my time of cleaning a bit exciting! Pledge® takes care of and protects the things you love, including hand-me-down furniture pieces.
I find it helpful to have a meaningful flow to a nursery, especially in the first few months of baby’s life. While sorting and organizing your baby’s items, make it your objective to:
Between all your purchases and gifts you may receive at a baby shower, the amount of baby items entering your home will be plenty. Get rid of as much packaging as possible, especially the big boxes of wipes and diapers, and find baskets or caddies to consolidate items. Instead of placing things in every corner of the room, create space in the closet or add the items to one of the dresser drawers.
Make the Necessities Accessible
Speaking of wipes and diapers, be sure to keep the items you will use multiple times a day easily accessible. Keeping the mentioned items plus lotion, cream and other grooming supplies on the top of your changing table or dresser will help you to tend to the baby’s needs as quickly and efficiently as possible. You won’t want to hunt for wipes or diaper cream when your baby has just had a crazy blow out (oh the joys!).
Designating specific drawers or areas of the closet for clothes will also simplify your nursery. After washing them, organize clothes by size and type. I like to designate at least one drawer solely to onesies and sleepers since those items get the most wear. Organizing by size will keep you from fishing for clothes when you are in a hurry.
