Luma Comfort Evaporative Cooler EC110S | MommyWifeLife Review

We are a few weeks into Spring, which means people are preparing for Summer. Is not that our nature? We always seem to be preparing for what is next. For some, summer preparations include saving up for their summer vacations and preparing their bodies for beachwear. Others are packing away the winter coats and clothes and purchasing new wardrobes to accommodate the warm temperatures that are to come.

Winters in Ohio are COLD and Summer days in Ohio are HOT. Simply put, Ohio weather, and Mid-West weather for that matter, goes from one extreme to the next. Although we are currently experiencing some cool temperatures, my eyes are focused on the warm days ahead. Keeping cool and creating a comfortable environment for my family is a priority. Let us be honest, being in a hot and stuffy home only motivates one to have a terrible attitude. Am I the only one? I want my home to stay cool, but at the same time I am considerate of our electric bill. During the summer months and especially because of the hottest of days, our bill tends to increase more than what we would like.

How I am Preparing for the Summer

I have discovered a way that I can keep my home cool and my electric bill low. The Luma Comfort Evaporative Cooler EC110S is an energy efficient cooling system. It naturally cools indoor areas through an evaporative cooling system that includes a water tank, cooling pad, dust filter. It also has the capability of humidifying your home. These main features are great for keeping the air in your home clean and cool, which is a great help in preventing and fighting undesirable summer colds. The cooling unit is more attractive than your average fan or air conditioner. The contemporary design of the unit allowed me to place it into any room in my home without it being an eye sore.

Take a look at the unboxing of the Luma Comfort Evaporative Cooler EC110S:

What I Like Most

  • As a safety feature, the system shuts off by itself if water tank is moved. Perfect for families with small children who enjoy exploring their parents’ gadgets and “toys”.
  • The timer allows you to turn on the unit and forget about it (up to 7.5 hours)
  • Quiet in sound
  • Includes easy to wash dust filter and cooling pad
  • Has wheels for easy maneuvering
  • Has a remote control that allows you to control the unit’s settings from across the room

How I Used The Unit

Since I used the system during the cold days of early Spring, I was not able to truly appreciate the coolness that it provides. Let me tell you, this unit gets COLD, even without the ice packs that you are given to give additional coolness. I started my annual allergy fight right before my first use of the EC110S so for a couple days I kept it in my bedroom on the humidifier setting, with hopes of the unit cleaning the air and reducing the amount of dust from my room. I also placed the evaporative cooler in each room of my home so my entire home could have cleaner air. There are speed options and modes that allow you to set the flow of the air to a setting that is most comfortable for you. You can also choose whether or not you want the fan to oscillate or not. Trust me, when it is on, you are getting a powerful air flow. The fact that this unit is energy efficient, can provide a cooler and cleaner environment for my family, and has great safety features, is why I cannot wait to use it and all the features this summer.

Thanks for the review! I came across your website as I was doing a review for portable evaporative coolers…I’m in Tucson and the time for a cooler is N.O.W.! 🙂 On another note…I’m considering starting a blog and wanted to ask you what type of video equipment and editing software you use? Your video of the unpacking is beautiful–professional quality.
