Necessities for a Holiday Bathroom Makeover | MommyWifeLife

The holiday season has finally begun and I am just as excited as I am every year. I love everything about this time of year–hanging out with family and friends more often than usual, Christmas music playing, non-stop eating of great food and treats and, of course, Christmas decorations! My husband’s eyes roll when I mention decorations because he knows I’ll be sending him to the crawl space for everything that sparkles. This year, I saved him some energy by getting everything I needed for our holiday bathroom makeover from Target.

When guests visit us this holiday I want them to be comfortable, even when in our bathroom. So, the first thing I had on my list to add to our bathroom was toilet paper. What good is a bathroom if you can’t use it? I like toilet paper that is soft, strong, and lasts long. Quilted Northern Ultra Soft & Strong® Mega Rolls give me all of the above. Each roll is four rolls in one so there are less roll changes. When you have a house full of family and friends, the last thing you want to worry about is running out of bath tissue. I took advantage of the Target Cartwheel offer (available until 11/30) for Quilted Northern to save a little money.

Holiday Bathroom Makeover

Our downstairs half bath gets a lot of traffic when we have guests. This bathroom, along with the other common areas in our home, gets decorated for the holidays. This year I want to brighten things up with a white, silver and gold theme for a simple, yet chic winter look.

Basket of Necessities

Keeping guests entertained and comfortable is always my priority when guests are over. I want them to feel welcomed and at home. A way to do that is making sure they have items available to them in the bathroom that they may be uncomfortable asking for, like extra bath tissue wipes or room spray. It’s an easy way to show consideration to your guests during the holidays.

What to Do

  1. Create a tag to attach to the basket. On it, include a message for guests to let them know it is there for them to use at their disposal. Attach it to the basket, making sure it will be visible to guests.
  2. Add the items (bath tissue, lint brush, spray, cotton swabs, wipes and hand cream) to the basket.
  3. Optional: Add tissue paper and a holiday decoration to make the basket more festive.
  4. Place basket on back of the toilet or in a place visible to guests.

I really like these holiday ideas; they are simple yet so decorative — the touch to add a little basket of toiletries is so smart ( I love when I see this offered at better hotels and restaurants!)
