Working from home, raising three children and homeschooling keeps me plenty busy. There is always cleaning to be done and a few cleaning hacks help me to stay on top of things. I won’t even pretend that I have some lazy cleaning tendencies. For that reason, I’m sharing a few cleaning hacks for the busy momma that, frankly, has more to do than clean all day long.
Growing up I watched one of my aunts wash her walls, curtains and blinds often. She was, and still is, a superwoman. As much as I wish I could accomplish as much as she does in a day, I realize that I can’t. I don’t feel bad about it and other moms should not either.
When we first bought our home I shopped at Target for a lot of home accents and accessories. To this day, any time I want to update or tidy up a room, I take a trip to Target like I did for my newest cleaning hack with Scotch-Brite™ 50% Stickier Lint Rollers.
Get 15% off Scotch-Brite and 50% off Stickier Lint Roller with this Target Cartwheel Offer (11/20-11/26).
The Scotch-Brite™ 50% Stickier Lint Roller is the largest and most practical lint roller I have ever seen! The large size is more adhesive makes it perfect for large debris us mommas see around the house like cookie crumbs, feathers from boas, glitter, hair and more. I love it because it means I don’t pull out the vacuum as often.
I have had the same curtains for the past six years. They don’t see the washer but once a year. I’d love to replace them, but quality curtains can be a bit pricey. Personally, I would rather spend money elsewhere, which is why I’ve chosen to keep and maintain them with this hack.
- Pull curtain panel as straight as possible or remove from curtain rod and place on a flat surface.
- Use the 8″ Scotch-Brite™ 50% Stickier Lint Roller and in a vertical motion (like you’re painting a wall) roll up and down the curtain panel. Be sure to roll over every area.
Check out all the lint it collected! This hack is super simple and saves you from hours of washing and ironing.
Cleaning Wood and Laminate Floors
Don’t have time to whip out a bucket and mop? Keep a spray bottle with a natural cleaner on hand for spot cleaning. Use a microfiber mop instead of a traditional mop for quick drying.
Natural Air Freshener
An easy way to freshen the air of the house is to, in a saucepan, bring cinnamon or orange rinds and water to a boil. The smell will fill your home within minutes, eliminating the need for an aerosol can.
